School Halls

   Rumbling down the hall,
bursting forth from class,
like a pent-up flood.
   Slam! Lockers shut and
open, crying out
for oil, creaking.
   Sounds like a herd of
elephants. Talking and
calling like chatty birds.
   After moments it subsides,
the halls empty. The doors
shut with a loud bang that
echoes through the school halls.
